Italian Lambrusco grape juice can show a vibrant, fruit forward flavor profile dominated by tart cherry, blackberry, raspberry and plum, with floral undertones described as violet, earthy and citrus zest.
Lambrusco names both an Italian wine and a red wine grape. The grape itself is not particularly sweet. Many Lambrusco wines are made sweet, or dolce, either by partial fermentation or by adding sweeteners once fermentation is complete. Fermented all the way, Lambrusco is capable of a dry wine, secco, with an aroma of strawberry and a slight bitter finish.
