Italian Verdicchio grape juice produces a crisp, aromatic white with excellent potential to age. Fruit notes can include lemon zest, green apple, pear and white peach, laid over mineral notes of fennel, thyme and crushed herb.
The color is a slight green to yellow. Acidity is high, the bouquet delicate, the flavor characteristically nutty, with a pleasant bitter aftertaste.
Verdicchio covers a wide range of food, delicate through savory. High acidity and a signature bitter almond finish make it best with seafood and shellfish, roasted poultry and fresh cheese.
